Forward Schedule & Spot Buy Facilities
The most traditional service, in which the customer places an order (via phone, e-mail, fax or at one of our trade counters), which can consist of parts listed on a BOM or ad-hoc purchases. The order is then processed quickly and efficiently and the goods are either delivered to the customer site, or made available for collection as required.
Direct Line Feed (DLF)/Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)
An inventory management system that allows product to be delivered to points of fit on a production line or points of use, or within a stores area. Products are held in agreed locations on customer sites and replenished on a regular basis by our operatives. This can help reduce many of the hidden administration and handling costs that may be incurred, and guarantees that deliveries are made at the right time in the required quantity, exactly where the product is required.
Product Vending Machines
A more advanced version of the DLF service in which products are stored in vending machines on the customer site, and accessed via security keys such as swipe cards. Usage information is then transmitted back to the local Service Centre and a replenishment order created as required.
E-Procurement
Increasingly, businesses are looking to the Internet and electronic trading to reduce costs. Anixter Industrial works closely with both customers and suppliers to develop and implement these new channels of trading.
Kitting & Sub-Assembly
We are also able to offer kitting and sub-assembly services, providing either a ready-prepared kit of components, or a finished unit as required. These services allow manufacturers to streamline their in-house production, benefiting through reduced labour costs, elimination of production line delays and increased working space.
Vendor Rationalisation
In order to reduce customer administration costs, Anixter Industrial can assist in the consolidation of suppliers through proactive vendor rationalisation.
